On April 18, seven ASTS members and two members of the American Association for Kidney Patients (AAKP) visited 22 offices on Capitol Hill to promote the Living Donor Protection Act (LPDA) and discuss controversial issues involving the PATIENTS Act. In addition, ASTS President Dr. Jean Emond addressed these concerns with seven more congressional offices on April 26. Altogether, ASTS represented transplantation patients and the community by visiting a total of 29 congressional offices. Thank you to Drs. Emond, Pomposelli, Paramesh, Humphreville, Kandaswamy, Marvin, Henderson, and Todo, and AAKP’s Paul Conway and Richard Knight for participating!
