The ASTS Foundation is seeking to establish the annual Ronald & JoAnn Busuttil Surgeon Scientist Scholarship, which would recognize his contributions to the field. Our goal is to raise $2,000,000 to ensure that ASTS could support an ongoing 2-year, $100,000 grant. The ASTS Foundation will cover all administrative expenses, so 100% of your contribution will go to funding research.

Under Dr. Busuttil’s leadership, the ASTS created its Foundation to support research funding for transplant surgeons and their trainees. As the ASTS and its Foundation seek innovative ways to support research, we believe the Ronald & JoAnn Surgeon Scientist Scholarship represents an innovative approach to ensure young surgeon-scientists have access to research funding while honoring Dr. Busuttil’s impact on generations of transplant surgeons.
