Saving and improving lives with transplantation

ASTS advances the art and science of transplant surgery through
patient care, research, education, and advocacy.

Message From The President

March 2025

March was a month of celebration, action, advocacy and remembrance. March is Women’s History Month, and we have a special opportunity to celebrate the incredible contributions of women transplant surgeons who continue to shape our field. I am thrilled to share the launch of a new initiative to create an ASTS Women in Transplant Surgery eBook highlighting women transplant surgeons, their personal stories and breadth of career activities. This month we continue to focus on critical advocacy topics, including OPTN Modernization, NIH indirect cost reductions, and media coverage of transplantation.
