Periodically, ASTS committees or grantees need to conduct surveys of ASTS members and others in the transplant community for their work. This page is a reference for the surveys approved by the ASTS Council to be sent to members.

Obesity in Transplantation Task Force Survey 

Open/Close Date: October 11, 2018 - December 11, 2018

The ASTS Obesity in Transplantation Task Force developed a brief survey regarding center's positions on obesity in transplantation. The Obesity in Transplantation Task Force is hoping to gain a better understanding of the landscape as it pertains to access to transplantation and treatment options for transplant patients with obesity.

Cell Transplantation Survey

  • Open/Close Date: July 5, 2018 - TBDIntended audience: Program Directors
  • Purpose of survey: to assess areas of interest of research within the transplant community. By participating in the survey process, this implies your consent to participate in the project. You can withdraw your participation at any time.
  • We believe that results of the survey will provide a broad perspective of the current field, the future directions, and give an opportunity to the members of our society to develop new ideas and collaborations within ASTS community as well as with the outside investigators.

ASTS Evaluation of Workplace Environment in Transplantation Medicine

  • Open/Close dates Wednesday, August 15, 2018 - Friday, November 2, 2018
  • Intended audience: ASTS members
  • Purpose of survey: An analysis via survey of workplace stressors will allow the establishment of preventative measures to ensure the continuation of a welcoming environment.
  • Transplant surgery is a rewarding field with promising new developments. However, no profession is free from negative events or potentially harmful interactions. Given current circumstances, a closer look at the environment of transplant medicine seems to be warranted to address any ongoing or future impediments to a safe and accepting field.

Humanitarian Medical Outreach & Capacity Building Survey

ASTS is looking at how to best assist the field of transplantation globally. We would appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to let us know about humanitarian efforts you or your institution participate in and whether ASTS could play a role in coordinating such efforts.

TACC Transplant Surgeon Practice-Readiness Survey

  • Open/close dates: Thursday, September 7, 2017 - Friday, October 20, 2017
  • Intended audience: ASTS surgeon members 
  • The Fellowship Training Committee (FTC) and Transplant Accreditation & Certification Council (TACC) are interested in ASTS member’s thoughts on practice-readiness and phase-in of new transplant surgery fellow graduates. An effective and smooth transition is important for patient safety, success and retention of the new surgeon, and stability for mature practices

ASTS Pediatric Transplantation Membership Survey

  • Open/close dates: Friday, April 7, 2017 -  Monday, July 31, 2017.
  • Intended audience: ASTS surgeon members 
  • Purpose of survey: To better understand the portion of the ASTS membership who are performing pediatric transplants, and the volumes per year at their centers.

ASTS Grants Recipient Survey

  • Open/close dates: Friday, March 10 – Wednesday, June 14, 2017
  • Intended audience: ASTS Research Grants recipients from 2003 – 2016
  • Purpose of survey: To help the ASTS Grants Review Committee understand how impactful ASTS grants are to our members’ careers.
  • Your participation will help the ASTS Grants Review Committee improve the ASTS Research Grants Program.

Johns Hopkins Transplant Center Quality Metrics Survey

  • Open/close dates: Thursday, March 9 - Monday, May 15, 2017(EXTENDED)
  • Intended audience: ASTS members in the U.S.
  • Purpose of survey: To better understand the strengths and weaknesses of measures currently used for CMS/SRTR quality regulation and inform the design of alternative metrics.
  • Your participation will help ensure that most appropriate metrics are used to regulate transplant centers.

ASTS Transplant Surgeon Compensation Survey

  • Open/close dates: Thursday, February 16 – Monday, March 27, 2017
  • Intended audience: ASTS Surgeon members in the U.S.
  • Purpose of the Survey: To help transplant surgeons and transplant centers in the U.S. better understand transplant surgeon compensation and RVU patterns
  • Your participation as an ASTS member will allow you obtain a complimentary copy of the results and analysis of the survey.
