OVERVIEW
As the number of Nurse Practitioners caring for transplant patients continues to increase, their role focusing on acute/ chronic illness with emphasis on preventative maintenance has become vital to the lifelong care of transplant patients and their unique needs. This conference is designed to address the complexities of managing the transplant patient within the scope of practice of the Nurse Practitioner. In addition, Vanderbilt prides itself in providing interprofessional education as the cornerstone to provide the interprofessional collaboration necessary for comprehensive care of the transplant patient. This year’s agenda will include nurse practitioner, pharmacist and physician speakers with new topics related to Non-Vaccination, Access to Care, Pediatric transplantation break-out sessions, as well as a return of updated topics such as Diabetes, Sensitized Patients, Pharmacology updates, and non-organ specific guidelines for assessment of transplant patients and diagnosis and treatment of common comorbidities and more.
