The ASTS and TACC leadership have been closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) developments and the impact of this situation on the 2020 Abdominal Transplant Surgery Fellowship Match for 2021 Positions and have made the following recommendation.

Below is a notice that was sent out to all Abdominal Fellowship Training Program Directors on March 10, 2020

Dear Fellowship Training Program Directors:
 
The ASTS and TACC leadership have been closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) developments and the impact of this situation on the 2020 Abdominal Transplant Surgery Fellowship Match for 2021 Positions. There are a growing number of institutions that are banning travel. Due to concerns about the health, safety, and security of you, your patients, and fellowship applicants, the ASTS and TACC strongly encourages Fellowship Training Programs to consider either delaying their face-to-face fellowship interviews to a future date, or conducting virtual interviews (such as through Skype, FaceTime, etc.) in lieu of face-to-face interviews.
