Controversies in Transplantation 2024

This program is designed for healthcare professionals who provide patient care at all levels in transplantation. The course is designed for, but not limited to surgeons, hepatologists, nephrologists, nurses, social workers, and pharmacists.

The University of Colorado faculty and guest speakers will address controversial topics in transplantation, robotic living donor hepatectomy, and normothermic regional perfusion.

 

Objectives: At the conclusion of this conference, participants should be able to: 

  1. Analyze new models in transplant organ procurement.
  2. Assess how to redesign the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network system.
  3. Assess the benefits and unforeseen consequences of robotic living donor hepatectomy.
  4. Identify standards for abdominal and thoracic surgical standards for normothermic regional perfusion.
  5. Assess whether liver transplantation for colorectal cancer liver metastases is ready for widespread use.
