The American Society of Transplant Surgeons is pleased to announce that Maggie Kebler-Bullock, CFRE, has been appointed as the ASTS Executive Director/CEO. She will formally step into the role on January 1, 2021.
ASTS President Marwan S. Abouljoud, MD, FACS, MMM, said, “I am pleased to welcome Maggie as the next ASTS Executive Director. She brings a wide breadth of knowledge and experience to the position, as well as dedication to ASTS, and is a team builder. I am confident she will use her skillset to effectively advance the Society’s mission and address new goals and challenges.”

“I am thrilled and honored to step into this position and lead our staff and organization into the next chapter. I have dedicated my time and energy to ASTS for nearly 10 years, and I look forward to many more. 2020 has brought many challenges and we will continue to evolve our strategies in 2021 and beyond so that we may expand our educational offerings and alignment with key stakeholders. I look forward to bringing in a new era of stability, cooperation, and inclusion to our organization.”

Maggie has served as ASTS’s Director of Development since 2019. In that role, she has served as a key member of the senior leadership team which drives strategy, implements board directives, and ensures ongoing success of the Society and its affiliated Foundation. She secured high-level, multi-year commitments from key corporate partners to secure grant funding for programs in research and education. She established a culture of philanthropy within the Society and Foundation to raise funds that support our trainees, junior faculty, and ATPs and help secure the future of the organization.

Prior to assuming the Director of Development role, Maggie held multiple other positions at ASTS. She began her career with ASTS in 2011 as the Education & Training Coordinator. She became Manager of Training & Development in 2013 before serving as Grants Manager from 2015-2017. In that role, she managed communications and fundraising activities for the ASTS Foundation and all sponsorship, marketing, and exhibitor opportunities for ASTS’s three annual meetings.

In her tenure as Associate Director of Development from 2017-2019, Maggie successfully transitioned approximately $20,000,000 in funds to a new investment manager; implemented and transitioned to a formal donor management system; and managed and cultivated current and new contributors, among other achievements.
Maggie is also a 500-hour, certified yoga instructor, mother of 3, and enjoys cooking with her husband Josh. Maggie can be reached at maggie.kebler@asts.org.
