Global Codes Data Collection Resources

May 25, 2017, 10:02 AM by User Not Found
Beginning July 1, practitioners in Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, and Rhode Island will be required to report on claims data on post-operative visits furnished during the global period of specified procedures using CPT code 99024.

Transplantation of Kidney (50360) is one of affected codes, and ASTS encourages surgeons in these impacted states to comply with the policy. If CMS is unable to collect accurate and complete data, then reimbursements for 10- and 90-day global services could be negatively affected.

ASTS is liaising with the American College of Surgeons, which has developed resources for this effort. ACS also held a webinar on this topic in May; the recording is available here. You must register to watch the webinar.
