ASTS Recognition Awards Nominations Due September 13

Has a faculty member, mentor, or peer had a positive influence on your career? Say thank you by nominating them for an ASTS Recognition Award!

The deadline for nominations has been extended to September 13, 2016. The recipients are recognized during a special Awards Presentation Ceremony at the ASTS Winter Symposium in Miami. There are four awards, each emphasizing a different aspect of the field of transplantation:

  • Francis Moore Excellence in Mentorship in the Field of Transplantation Surgery Award acknowledges the efforts of established surgeons for their stewardship of fellowship trainees and junior faculty. The award recipient will receive all-access registration to the Winter Symposium, three nights’ hotel accommodations, and coach airfare to attend the ASTS Winter Symposium.
  • The Vanguard Prize honors junior members for their publication efforts in basic and clinical research. Award recipients receive $2,500 honoraria, all-access registration to the Winter Symposium, three nights’ hotel accommodations, and coach airfare to attend the ASTS Winter Symposium.
  • The Advanced Transplant Provider Award recognizes the time and effort dedicated to advancing surgical management in transplantation by advanced transplant professionals. The award recipient will receive all-access registration to the ASTS Winter Symposium, two nights’ hotel accommodations, and up to $750 in travel reimbursement.
  • The Rising Stars in Transplantation Surgery Award recognizes an individual’s body of scholarly work for originality, importance, and peer recognition in the absence of NIH funding. Recipient(s) will receive a Certificate of Recognition, formal notification letter, and letter of significance.
