Progress on the DTCP 5,000 in 5 Goal

Mar 24, 2016, 12:45 PM by User Not Found

The Donation and Transplantation Community of Practice (DTCP) Strategic Planning Committee, composed of many organizations including OPOs, transplant centers, donor hospitals, and government agencies, came together to develop a collective goal to increase the number of transplants across the nation:

To save and heal more lives by increasing the number of organs transplanted by 5,000 over the next 5 years.

A progress report on the goal was issued in March 2016. The goal called for 333 more transplants in 2015 than in 2014, but the actual number exceeded that goal: 1,586!
