ASTS and Applied Medical Renal Hilum Dissection (RHD) Model Pilot Study

Background:

The Renal Hilum Dissection (RHD) Simulation Model was developed by Applied Medical in collaboration with ASTS to assist transplant surgeons in gaining exposure to renal hilar dissection prior to direct patient interaction and to accelerate technical proficiency.

This study will assess the utility and efficacy of implementing the Renal Hilum Dissection (RHD) Simulation Model and will assess confidence and competence in performing living donor nephrectomies.

The study is being conducted during the 2021 - 2022 Academic Year and led by Dr. R. Cutler Quillin, University of Cincinnati.
