Methodist Institute for Technology, Innovation, and Education (MITIE)

ASTS is co-locating the Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy and Comprehensive Donation after Circulatory Death Workshops in 2019! Learners will be able to choose to attend just one hands-on workshop, or attend both at a reduced registration rate. Both workshops will be held at the Methodist Institute for Technology, Innovation, and Education (MITIE) in Houston, Texas from August 26–28, 2019.

LDN Workshop: August 26–27, 2019
Comprehensive DCD Workshop: August 27–28, 2019

The Laparoscopic Donor Nephrectomy Workshop will include surgical video viewings and group discussion, a hands-on cadaver lab, and interactive didactic sessions covering topics such as complications, techniques, donor safety, and patient care.

For the second year, ASTS is hosting a Comprehensive Donation after Circulatory Death Workshop aimed at teaching attendees about all aspects of donation after circulatory death, from both a surgical and OPO perspective. The course will include surgical videos and discussion, didactic lectures from top surgeons in the field, and a hands-on cadaver lab.
