Second-year fellows in all ASTS accredited fellowship training programs are invited to the 11th Annual ASTS Annual Surgical Fellows Symposium in Snowbird, Utah on October 13, 2017 – October 15, 2017. At the symposium, fellows will gain focused education on many fundamentals in transplant surgery, particularly in areas that have been identified as underemphasized in many training programs. Through didactic lectures, interactive panel discussions, and case study presentations, the program focuses on various areas in fellowship training, such as immunosuppression, high risk donors, transplant candidate evaluation, organ allocation, practical aspects of donor and recipient pairing, surgical tips, CMS regulations and compliance, and professionalism. The program offers networking events that give fellows the opportunity for personal, one-on-one interaction with ASTS Council members, nationally recognized faculty experts, and peers.
