The Role of Robotic Surgery in Living Donation

Purpose:
The increasing number of patients requiring kidney transplantation is continually challenging the transplant community to identify opportunities to increase the number of living donors. The implementation of laparoscopic donor nephrectomy was a major step forward in increasing living donor benefits in terms of reduced pain, bleeding, length of stay, and improved aesthetic outcomes. In a constant effort to optimize nephrectomy procedures to minimize disruptions to a living donor's life, a new procedure with the aid of robotics has been developed. This webinar will explore the use of robotic surgery in living donation.
