PubMed and MedlinePlus are services provided by the US National Library of Medicine.

PubMed includes references to over 16 million articles published in 4800 biomedical journals.  PubMed includes information on the article (author, journal, reference), abstracts of select articles and, often, link to the full text article.  MEDLINE/PubMed is geared toward the health care professional.

MedlinePlus is sponsored by the US National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health.  MedlinePlus organizes authoritative information from a variety of government and health related organizations.  MedlinePlus is known for the fact that there is no advertising on the site and it does not endorse any company or product.  It offers a wealth of information and tools for both the medical professional and the patient.
