About the Symposium

Through a series of lectures and interactive sessions with leaders in the field, fellows will gain focused education of many fundamentals in transplant surgery, particularly in areas that have been identified as underemphasized in many training programs. Sessions included in the symposium will cover topics such as living donor operations, DCD organ procurement and usage, transplant candidate evaluation, organ allocation, practical aspects of donor and recipient pairing, CMS regulations and compliance, professionalism, and career preparation. The program provides over 15 hours of didactic and interactive educational content combined with networking events that give fellows unparalleled opportunities for personal, one-on-one interaction with ASTS Council members, nationally recognized faculty experts, and peers. The symposium has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.
